PocDoc and The GP Federation for Newcastle to Launch a Community ‘Health Check-In’ Service

NEWCASTLE, England — PocDoc is pleased to announce a collaboration with the GP Federation for Newcastle and the Newcastle University School of Pharmacy to launch a vital community service named ‘Health Check-In,’ scheduled to commence on Monday, 9th October. 

A Community Service

This innovative service extends an open invitation to adults, aged 18 and over, for essential health check-ins, giving valuable advice and signposting across multiple community venues throughout Newcastle.

Bridging Health Inequalities

This initiative targets the areas of health disparities in the community by closely adhering to the Core20Plus5 framework and combined efforts of the Public Health team to prioritize places demonstrating the greatest necessity.

Exploring PocDoc’s Facilitation in Digital Health

The integration of PocDoc into this initiative shows the substantial stride towards enhancing community health. PocDoc’s digital health platform, which is able to comprehensively manage and analyse key health metrics such as cholesterol, height, weight, BMI, and blood pressure, will simplify and streamline the health check-ins provided through this initiative.

Commencing the Journey Towards Enhanced Community Health

In the initial phase spanning 4-6 weeks, the service by the Newcastle GP Services will be hosted in indoor venues across the city, subsequently transitioning to a phase with a specially outfitted Community Health Bus in November.
